Carbon Pricing

CRA introduced an increase in the cost of some items we require in everyday living, in the form of a “Carbon Pricing”

“Pricing carbon pollution is one of the most effective ways to reduce the greenhouse gas emissions that cause climate change. It creates a financial incentive for people and businesses to pollute less. “

The quotation was taken from CRA Website: https://www.canada.ca/en/environment-climate-change/services/climate-change/pricing-pollution-how-it-will-work/putting-price-on-carbon-pollution.html

Recently, it announced it was going to “rebate” some of this pricing back to small business that were incorporated, and had a payroll of between 1 and 499 individuals that were issued T4’s. This rebate varies from province to province, and is quite significant, in that it will refund over 2.5 billion dollars to some 600,000 small business owners.

I will write that number out in case you don’t know what it would look like: $2,500,000,000.

My comments about this would be superfluous, however, I’m thinking someone either collected a lot more than was necessary, or collected a lot of funds that were unnecessary, or push came to shove, and small business got heard, that they were being hurt.

What next?
