February 23 2026 is the first day CRA has opened the gate to allow the tax filing for the 2025 Year.
The Filing deadline for individuals is April 30, and for self employed individuals, and their spouse, it is extended to June 15, with the tax amount due by April 30. Interest is charged on unpaid tax, and is calculated on a daily basis. Interest is also charged when you have been asked to remit installments, and the installment payment is either late, or not paid.
Since March of 2020, we have found that we are more productive by working in our home offices, and attending the London Office at 395 Wellington Road South, on Wednesdays, and Thursdays by setting up appointments on those days, for individuals requiring to pick up, or sign documents. We use an oversized mail slot in our door for you to drop off any documents you wish to leave us with, and the building is open Monday to Friday, from 9:00 until 3:00 pm, each of those days. The building is otherwise locked as those business persons still working, can otherwise remotely open the door, if you ring our office with the keypad attached to the outer wall.
For individual tax returns, we do charge a modest fee for the preparation and e-filing, and really appreciate those who have computer access, and are willing to receive their tax returns through a secure portal, with the permission form (T183) provided for a digital signature. This procedure hopefully saves you the travelling time to our office and back home, and most questions you have for us don’t require a meeting. Generally a phone call will resolve issues, and any changes or adjustments can be made, even after your tax return has been filed and assessed.
